The curly goldened headed tot sank deeper in her bed drawing herself into a tiny little ball. She pulled the covers tightly over her head to block out the terrible noise.

The screaming from the kitchen gave her a knot in the pit of her stomach and fear in her heart. Tears filled her sky blue eyes and slid down her rosey little cheeks. She tasted the salt as they slid into her sweet little mouth.

She softly mummered a child's prayer, "Please Jesus, make Mommy and Daddy stop fighting. Please make Daddy not be so angry and stop hitting Mommy. It makes me so scared. I promise Jesus, I will be a very good girl if you just help them to stop fighting." She wondered if Jesus could hear her since the fighting continued.

The little girl loves her Daddy so much. She is sure that he doesn't mean to do these terrible things to Mommy. He is always sorry afterwards and tells Mommy that it will never happen again. He seems so sad so she is sure that he is truly sorry.

He will bring her a toy and Mommy flowers or candy tomorrow to show them how very sorry he is for doing those mean things. Things are alway nice for awhile, until they make Daddy get angry again.

The Child heard the slamming of the door. The only sound she could hear now was the crying of her Mommy. She slowely crawled from her bed and went to her Mommy. She nestled her tiny little head in her Mommy's arms. She felt safe now but misses her Daddy. When She grows up, she wants to marry a man just like her Daddy.. Statistics say that she will.
